Planned Companies is seeking a Business Development Manager responsible for driving growth by building relationships and generating new business opportunities. The role involves engaging with the market through networking and site visits, while managing a pipeline of qualified prospects to convert them into long-term clients.
Responsibilities:
- Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and networking functions
- Build and maintain relationships with property managers, board members, and key decision-makers
- Actively participate in local organizations and committees to increase brand visibility
- Travel throughout the market to meet with prospective and existing clients
- Serve as a visible and professional representative of the company in the field
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach and relationship building
- Conduct calls, emails, and in-person meetings to generate introductions and schedule site visits
- Partner with the Director of Business Development to advance larger, strategic opportunities
- Independently manage and close smaller opportunities where appropriate
- Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects across multiple stages
- Ensure consistent and timely follow-up on all leads, meetings, and active opportunities
- Track conversations, next steps, and deal progress to maintain pipeline visibility
- Support the sales process from initial contact through proposal and closing stages
- Help ensure no opportunities are lost due to lack of communication or follow-through
- Coordinate site visits, walkthroughs, and client meetings
- Partner with internal teams to support proposal development, pricing, and presentations
- Maintain accurate and organized records in CRM or tracking systems
- Assist in preparing materials for client presentations and meetings
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable working in a field-based role with frequent travel throughout the market
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership
- Professional presence and confidence in networking and client-facing environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or lead tracking tools
- Experience in multifamily, HOA, real estate, or property management industries
