Modern Campus empowers higher education institutions to adapt to challenges in student engagement and administrative efficiency. They are seeking a Sales Development Representative to support lead generation and conversion efforts within the Sales team, collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilizing proven sales strategies to engage prospective accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the business development team to research and prioritize target account lists
- Generate new business opportunities by performing outbound sales activities (prospecting)
- Explain the value proposition of our product and communicate key information on our products
- Gather information on prospects, including fit and timing
- Educate prospective customers on how our software works and how it can benefit them
- Nurture leads through ongoing phone and email communications
- Use Salesforce to track prospects and keep information current
- Work with marketing to create materials that support lead generation and nurturing activities
- Actively build product knowledge to ensure a high level of literacy on our product
- Focus on achieving monthly quotas of outbound calls, appointments set, opportunities created and sales accepted leads
- Build a strong ongoing pipeline of prospects and leads
Requirements:
- University degree or College diploma in Business Administration, Computer Science and/or relevant work experience
- 1-3 years' experience working in Sales or similar capacity role
- Strong understanding of consultative sales skills with potentially long sales cycles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Goal oriented with a strong desire to succeed
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with changing priorities
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Good working knowledge of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office applications)
- Proficient in a multi-task environment; can type, text, email, and present via web and phone
- An understanding of web technologies and computer programming – a plus but not required
