Job Description:
Project Details
Own and manage ServiceNow CMDB as the system of record
Serve as the CMDB & CSDM subjectmatter expert across internal stakeholders
Lead CMDB governance, data quality, and process definition
Translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements, processes, and user stories
Advise on automation and process improvements (define what should be done, not necessarily implement it)
Review ServiceNow CMDBrelated release notes and proactively flag impacts or opportunities
Perform light configuration and platform guidance; not a heavy developer role
Team Size & Breakdown:
Reports into a ServiceNow platform leader overseeing CMDB and related modules
Works closely with:
ServiceNow architects
Senior engineers (ITOM / platform)
Business and technical stakeholders
No people management responsibilities
High-Level Individual Duties:
Be the goto CMDB contact for questions, changes, and improvements
Explain CI relationships, CSDM concepts, and CMDB structure to nontechnical audiences
Partner with stakeholders to understand changes and impacts
Provide recommendations on process, structure, and governance
Stay current on ServiceNow CMDBspecific upgrades and releases
Top Must-Haves:
Strong handson ServiceNow CMDB experience
Deep understanding of CSDM and governance principles
Ability to clearly explain CMDB & CSDM to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Experience as a senior individual contributor (not a manager)
Strong analysis, communication, and stakeholderfacing skills
Familiarity with ITOM concepts
Comfortable working fully remote, aligned to Central Time
Nice To Have
Experience with additional ServiceNow modules:
ITSM
Vulnerability Response
IRM / riskrelated workflows
Background as a ServiceNow Admin or Developer prior to focusing on CMDB
Light scripting or technical depth (for advisory purposes, not heavy coding)
