Business Development Engineer

Momentum Manufacturing Group – Engineered Extrusions is New England's largest custom aluminum extrusion manufacturer, partnering with OEMs to deliver engineered aluminum solutions from concept through production. The Business Development Engineer will drive growth in data center, OEM, and power management markets by developing customer relationships, managing sales opportunities, and advising customers on custom extrusion and fabricated component solutions. The role also supports technical proposals, pricing, market development, product launches, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within the data center, power management, and OEM markets
• Build and strengthen relationships with engineers, procurement teams, and executive decision-makers
• Manage a sales pipeline from lead generation through contract award and production launch
• Develop account growth strategies for both new and existing customers
• Maintain accurate forecasts and sales activity within CRM systems
• Evaluate customer designs, specifications, and manufacturing requirements
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop cost-effective solutions
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and presentations tailored to customer needs
• Support pricing strategies that balance customer value with company profitability goals
• Present manufacturing capabilities and technical solutions during customer meetings and plant visits
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities within target industries
• Participate in trade shows, industry events, and customer networking activities
• Provide strategic input on market positioning and business growth initiatives
• Support new product launches and customer onboarding efforts
• Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales cycle
• Ensure exceptional customer service and responsiveness
• Coordinate cross-functional resources to meet customer expectations and project timelines
• Foster long-term partnerships that drive repeat business and customer retention

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• 3+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, account management, or related customer-facing roles
• Strong ability to interpret customer requirements, specifications, and commercial objectives
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in custom manufacturing, aluminum extrusions, fabricated metal components, or industrial products
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure, power management systems, electrical equipment, or OEM manufacturing environments
• Technical sales experience supporting engineered products or manufacturing solutions
• Understanding of pricing, quotations, cost modeling, and margin analysis
• Experience working with engineering and operations teams in a manufacturing environment
