Performance PR Manager - Affiliate Marketing Agency

Ikon Digital Media is a performance marketing agency helping leading eCommerce and Amazon brands accelerate growth through affiliate marketing, creator partnerships, Performance PR, and AI Search Visibility. The Performance PR Manager will develop and execute PR strategies, build media relationships, secure editorial coverage, manage product seeding, and integrate PR efforts with affiliate and commerce initiatives across multiple client brands.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute Performance PR strategies across a portfolio of eCommerce and consumer brands
• Identify compelling brand, product, seasonal, and category-specific angles that create meaningful editorial opportunities
• Build targeted media strategies around product launches, seasonal moments, gift guides, buying guides, reviews, trend stories, and evergreen commerce content
• Proactively identify opportunities for clients to earn inclusion in existing and upcoming editorial coverage
• Manage outreach campaigns from strategy and pitching through follow-up, placement, and reporting
• Continuously evaluate coverage opportunities based on relevance, authority, traffic potential, and commercial impact
• Build and maintain strong relationships with editors, journalists, commerce writers, product reviewers, and other relevant media contacts
• Pitch products and brand stories to national and digital publications across relevant consumer categories
• Research publications, writers, and editorial calendars to identify high-value opportunities for each client
• Develop personalized, compelling pitches tailored to individual writers, publications, and editorial opportunities
• Monitor journalist requests, editorial opportunities, seasonal features, and emerging trends
• Maintain an organized and growing database of media contacts and relationships
• Develop and manage product seeding and sampling strategies designed to generate reviews and editorial coverage
• Coordinate product samples between clients, editors, journalists, and reviewers
• Track samples, follow up on opportunities, and maintain visibility into potential and confirmed coverage
• Identify opportunities to turn product testing and sampling into long-term editorial relationships
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams around product availability, launches, promotions, and key seasonal moments
• Work closely with Ikon's affiliate team to identify publications and editorial partners with strong commerce and revenue potential
• Understand how affiliate relationships, commission structures, product offers, and tracking can strengthen editorial opportunities
• Identify opportunities to secure or expand affiliate-enabled links within editorial coverage
• Collaborate across Performance PR, affiliate, and creator initiatives to maximize the value of earned placements
• Evaluate coverage not only by placement volume, but by quality, visibility, traffic, affiliate contribution, and overall business impact
• Track outreach, media relationships, placements, links, and campaign performance across assigned clients
• Provide clear reporting on secured coverage, active opportunities, and pipeline development
• Analyze results to identify the publications, content types, products, and strategies generating the strongest outcomes
• Participate in client meetings to provide Performance PR updates, recommendations, and strategic direction
• Collaborate with Account Directors and internal teams to ensure PR strategies align with broader client growth objectives

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in PR, media relations, editorial outreach, affiliate marketing, commerce content, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience securing editorial coverage for consumer products or eCommerce brands
• Strong understanding of digital media, editorial publications, product reviews, gift guides, buying guides, and commerce content
• Excellent written communication and pitching skills, with the ability to develop concise, compelling outreach
• Highly organized and able to manage outreach, follow-ups, product samples, deadlines, and opportunities across multiple client accounts
• Comfortable analyzing performance and using data to inform strategy
• Self-starter who's proactive, resourceful, relationship-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• While this is a remote role, we strongly prefer candidates located in Southern California who can attend quarterly team off-sites and occasional in-person meetings
• Existing relationships with editors, journalists, commerce writers, or product reviewers strongly preferred
• Experience with consumer product categories such as lifestyle, home, wellness, beauty, technology, food, outdoor, or other eCommerce verticals is a plus
• Familiarity with affiliate marketing and commerce publishers is strongly preferred
• Agency experience or experience managing multiple brands simultaneously preferred
